DECOMP Nitrification is a scientifically developed microbial culture designed for the biological nitrification of ammoniacal nitrogen in condensates and industrial effluents. Nitrification is a biological oxidation process that converts ammonium salts (NH4) into nitrites (NO2) and subsequently into nitrates (NO3). It is the most commonly used method for the biological removal of ammoniacal nitrogen from wastewater streams. In this process - Nitrifying bacteria oxidize ammonia to nitrite. Another group of bacteria further oxidizes nitrite to nitrate. The final stage of nitrogen removal (denitrification) involves reducing nitrate to nitrogen gas (N2), which is released into the atmosphere.

Benefits

  • Efficient and natural removal of ammoniacal nitrogen
  • Enhances performance of biological treatment systems
  • Reduces dependency on chemical treatments
  • Easy-to-use and cost effective solution
  • Helps in reducing the foul odour of ammonia.
  • Environmentally safe and non-pathogenic

Application Area

  • Equalization Tank
  • Mixed Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR)
  • Membrane Bio Reactor (MBR)
  • Sequential Batch Reactor (SBR)
  • Activated Sludge Process (ASP)
  • Holding Tank

How to Use

  • A small quantity of culture is to be added in the holding tank, where nitrified effluent is intermittently stored.
  • Dosage may vary depending on site specific parameters and effluent characteristics.
